Amante Bustamante-Ashburn donates to FUN-Fogata Scholarship Program

Mr. Amante Bustamante and his company, Ashburn Consulting of Virginia, is the major contributor to the Filipino United Network, USA – Eva Fogata Educational Scholarship (FUN-Fogata) for Camarines Sur, Philippines.

The FUN-Fogata program has 36 high school scholars so far in 2012, since Amante Bustamante made his first donation of $4,000 in 2009, $5,000 in 2012,and $5,000 in 2011.

The Chair of this program is Ms. Eva Fogata of Leesburg, Virginia. The benefits include free tuition, uniforms, and shoes, and deserving candidates are chosen from first to fourth year classes.

Ten students, besides the 36, went through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as FUN-Fogata scholars and have graduated in 2012 in Camarines Sur, Philippines. Six are now gainfully employed and four are in the process of applying for employment. As FUN-Fogata scholars enrolled at TESDA for vocational training, the ten received free board and lodging and tuition fees.

The future plan of this scholarship program in 2013 is the expansion of their TESDA enrollment by constructing a new school that could accomodate 200 or more students at a time. This will be made possible by the continued support of our major donor Amante Bustamante and his company and a new pledge from Ciandro Corporation, based in the Camarines Sur and Albay Region, Philippines.
